A Hard Day for Game Designers at Microsoft

Word is spreading on the Microsoft Flight Simulator related web forums that the Microsoft internal group called ACES which is responsible for the Microsoft Flight Simulator and Train Simulator franchises has been hit very hard by the job cuts this week. It is speculated that the future of those games is in doubt. The Flight Simulator franchise goes back to 1982 when it was produced by Sublogic, I believe. Hard times in Redmond.

uSoft getting hit with job cuts?
Don't see how their tech support could get any worse!
Except maybe now we'll have to wait an extra hour to get that broken-English-speaking rep on the phone.

Excuse me, could you repeat that?
....i already did that! i said i already did that!
Can you say that again?
....Oh OK, i already tried that too!
Could you speak slower? I said could you please speak slower!!!
....if i understand what you said i tried that also!
Sorry, i'm having a hard time understanding you?
Can i talk to someone else?

CLUNK!....dial tone!

Happened to me twice!!

A follow up for FWIW.
I decided to give MSN (my ISP) tech support a call today to get and understand my proxy server address and Port No. I've been unable to download updates from Ad-aware due to proxy server related issues i think and just maybe hopefully solve some problems i'm having with this website.

Well the first guy i talked to spoke relatively good English but i still had to ask him to repeat a few times. He just spoke too dam fast with that accent. After roughly 20 minutes or so, i knew it, but he finally admitted he had no clue. So he transferred me to his supervisor. I explained exactly and succinctly my questions. He put me on hold for around 10 minutes and came back with even a lesser clue than the first guy.
So he transferred me to a 'connections' specialist. Put me on hold, after another 20 minutes of listening to uSoft propaganda, i gave up. Maybe if they played some good elevator music while i was on hold i mighta held out another 10 minutes.
