Scourge of War Boards

while I wait for a SOW Amer Revolution mod, might as well keep dreaming. what I would like even more (and boy, I wish I had the exp/ability to make one of these great MODs myself) would be an American West MOD...with diff Indian tribes, US cavalry, Texans, the Mexican Army, Bandits, etc...

for me it wouldn't even have to be historically perfect; i'd me more than happy with 7-8 misc western US maps...and play "sandbox"...i'm probably all alone on this one, and not much chance it would ever happen...BUT if it did I honestly think it would sell...(using the best game engine, SOW)...

Norbsoftdev is firmly rooted in the Civil War and there is no way that they will branch out into other theatres for the official game. These will only come from mods ... and most modders are currently concentrating on European Campaigns (Napoleon and Marlborough) and there is a lot of mileage still to go on that.

Norbsoftdev also retain the sole right to produce maps in their own patent format so mods can only use existing maps.

I don't think the existing game engine would work very well in some of the areas you suggest. OK I suppose for the Tex / Mex wars but do you really want your native americans and stage coach robbers to behave like French Cavalry ?

There is a guide to modding available which shows all the data files that are available. Someone will give you the link .... I forget it at the moment. If you can get and read this you will have a much better base to understand the intricacies of modding ..... and intricate it indeed is.
