I came across a real survival game that is for free, and through donations, and it's of course called "Unreal World". I haven't played it much because of my obsession with being lazy but here is a small gist of what this game entails. URW has made allot of changes, and more are planned in the near, and distant future. Also, this game is very deep, and does require a bit of doing, but it is a very enjoyable RPG...
