Status Reports.

Hey everyone, pretty new to the game and loving it so far, but I have a question that I couldn't find the answer to.

I'm sending out couriers to generals with support, what's your status, and never get status reports. I've been trying to figure out why status reports aren't coming back, do units have to be out of LoS to send a status report? I even tried switching to grognard difficulty to see if it was perhaps one of my custom difficulty settings that was interfering but to no avail.

I'm primarily asking because I am interested in turning off map markers at some point and would need to rely on status reports in some manner to get a feel as to what the situation might be on a particular flank. Without any information I would not know where to commit reserve forces.

Hi Examiner,

This is not implemented for Ai units in game - it's more of a time-saver for MP games and you are sending messages to human generals. You will automatically get reports from your Ai subordinates when they sight an enemy unit or when they have engaged the enemy, but you can't request an update at will.

It's something we need to improve on and we hope to have it for Waterloo.

That would be *really* good con20or. Thanks.

Keep waving the couriers banner at NSD Central :)

Wave he does! The man is a relentless advocate for couriers and everyone who enjoys playing with them owes him a debt of gratitude.

Thanks for the answer, it's good to know that there are at least automatic reports that will come in. It would be great to see this implemented for Waterloo.
