question regarding objectives

Hi,

friend and I were playing the MP scen MP GB04 The Rose Woods last night - lot of fun but I think it is very difficult for the Confederates.

Question regarding the map display of objectives. When I mouse over an objective, say Devil's Den, on the popup map, it displays HOLD:0 mins. However our testing showed that the timer counted down from one minute. Shouldn't it therefore display HOLD:1 ? It is confusing otherwise as you have to check what the timer really is going to do.

Second question, we noted all objectives disappeared approximately 1 hour into the game. Is there any way of knowing in advance when HOLD objectives will go away? It doesn't seem to be indicated on the map mouse over.

thanks!

When you mouse over an objective on the minimap and the timer has less than a minute to go, it will show 0 minutes. Each of the objectives in this scenario are 1 minute long.

Unfortunately there is no way to tell how long a hold objective will last. It is up to the scenario designer to list this information in the intro, for which he didn't. The objectives last from 16:30 to 17:30 in The Rose Woods MP scenario.

We are working on a way to simplify objectives for SOWWL. But until then, if this information isn't listed in the intro, there's no way to tell unless you look at the actual files (maplocations.csv in particular)

#1 Question - Hold objectives display one minute less than scripted. Don't know why but not really a concern since hold objectives are rarely above a one minute interval.

#2 Question - This info is usually included in the scenario intro, the duty of the scenario author. Or, they will include it in the title of the objective, this is what I generally do. Some scenario authors prefer the element of surprise, and provide no information regarding objective criteria. Regardless, this info in included in the Maplocations.csv file.
