December screenies

Post by DrMike1997 »

I have not been by this site in quite a while and have just now taken a look at the December screenshots and I must say, they are awful. Just terrible. In one fell swoop you have made the old TC games look, well, OLD! I'm afraid to even fire up the old girl now. Can't wait to try out this game.

What I meant was the pictures look so good they make a game I love look old and out of date:( In that sense they are awful because they come close to ruining a great old game. They are awsome in the sense that they make me want to buy this game!

Ah, I understand now. My mistake. They are awesome though aren't they! It's my job to help find bugs, and to do my best to make sure the game lives up to the awesomeness of the screen shots. :)

DrMike you old tester, how are you doing. Glad you are keeping tabs on this one. We hope to make this one as much of an advance over TC as TC was over SMG/A. With MP you can yell at live people rather than being restricted to yelling at people who have been dead for 140 years. ;)

For those who don't know DrMike was one of the small but dedicated crew who collaborated to build and test CWBR.

Great to see you here Dr Mike! I'm glad you like the screenshots. Louie, Bedbug and myself have tried to make the art look more 'realistic' - toned down colours and a bit dirtier. I think we have achieved it to some extent - a very different style really.

Obviously there are a lot of limitations but we are constatning working on improving artwork now. I've just completed some new flags, Louie has made new game screens and bedbug has redone terrain sprites so the screenies probably need updating.

Yeah thats me! In Hockey terms I was one of the original 6!B)

About two years of bug hunting to my credit. One thing I found amusing about the experience is that it actually helped with my standing in my day job. I am a college prof and students reaction to the fact that I have a Ph.D is pretty much ho hum, whatever. But when they hear I worked on a computer game that actually went to market the reaction is WOW! That's awsome! My standing in their eys goes way up over the measly Ph.D's around here.:cheer:
