hehe beat you to this post in the Napoleonic Wars section :D very nice work.

I'll quote myself, as its more appropriate here
Nice article there bedbug, can't wait to get into modding now

What is the size of the maps that come with War3DII? What limits are there atm?

And are those ships merely decorations, or will they actually fight?

Great prospect!

The script from your article goes out of the text area, making it hard to read. Does anybodyelse get the same view?

The script runs out and the pictures are stacked horizontally in IE so you have to use the slide bare at the bottom to view them all.....obviously a screw loose somewhere (probably my screw):P

Well, till it all gets sorted;

Maps can be any size...BUT the main determining factor is weather your PC will come to a screeching halt after loading one thats 5 miles a side. If you don't like trees and crops and buildings and fences or too many of those kinda things then Birdseyes got a winner.....course you may spend half a day searching for someone to fight....

The mod I'm working on is non-historic.....more of a corps/division size invasion/raid. There are only light artillery and light cavalry....so they are more important as they are more scarce. Light cavalry almost never fought on foot or used there carbines, so I don't have any dismounted cav.... sorry.
The ships are window dressing/atmospherics for now, but the gunboats are active...sorta. LOL There's lots to do.
If and when I come out with a mod after release of Gettysburg I'm sure there will be plenty of modders to make of it what they will.....I already see people taking up the sprite making banner, so there should be hot times ahead. Seven Years War.....WWI who knows?
This is the game to build it in, I'm convinced of that.B)

Good tip using the curser to highlight the script. :)

Actually having all the SS horizontal made for a great panoramic view, really different.

Just a few weeks ago the long wait was over. The small New Jersey company NorbSoftDev, founded by Norb und Mary Lou Timpko, officially announced their upcoming first real time strategy game with the title War3DII: Gettysburg in the second part of 2009.
That was in the interview that Karl-Peter Reinhart wrote about WAR3D2. How much time do you need to mod a game? It's exciting to see battles and mods in the works.

Bedbugs' article builds up the anxiety to a new level, can't wait till this game hits the street.:woohoo:
