This might have already been answered before, but if we would like to detach a regiment and give it to another corps, division, brigade, can we do this, and have that regiment be commanded by the other officer?

For example: If I want a battery to maintain a line, and my buddy has a battery that isn't being used. I ask him for it, and he says, yes, I can have it. Can the battery then be detached from his and put into my command?

Nope, you command all troops under your command, you cannot detach any and give them to another commander.

Too Bad that would have been a nice feature. I noticed HISTWAR has this feature listed.

Well I know it would be essential to this game if teammates could give and take control of units. So lets say the game start and I have the 1st Minnesota, but I'm a newb at the game. It would make sense to be able to choose to give the unit up, IF, I already start with the unit upon random selection at the start of the game. I would giv the unit up because my teammate is a much better player and should handle the crack troops while I tend to the greenies :)

This leads me to another question, how will brigade assignments be handled? I would imagine all the players would be able to chat before the game and decide who takes who, no?

There is a game setup screen where everyone chooses who they play and which side they are on.

That's too bad. Maybe something for number 2!

Speaking of which...Norb: Number 2 should be Antietam, if you don't mind.
