a battle i gave, with a really awesome map/picture :P

Post by sifis172 »

hi guys! i wanted to share a really awesome battle that i gave
in the sandbox campaign!
Image:P

the french occupy the ferme dux in the beginning of the battle.
the prussians approach with forces consisted mainly of cavalry
and a small force of infantry.

they are pushed back. but while that happens the naughty prussians
send an infantry force circling around the french with the
intention of turning at their back.

so the french (i was lucky that i saw them in the first place)
detach half their force, and occupy farme un and set defencivelly
before the prussians arrive.

i had the corps of lobau who has no cavalry, and was facing
the III army force of thielmann (i think).

anyway it was pretty awesome, thanks!

In the sandbox Campaign Battle all the battlfield maps are the same as each other regardless of the town you have to fight for, is this a mistake?

There is a limited number of maps, you can see them in the sandbox battle menu, so it is very likely every battle in city or town will use the same map.

what really helps, in managing to move large ammounts of troops
is the strategic map. in the keyboard it is "n".
the thing is you can't move corpses, or armies.
so you select a marshall, then press the down button,
to go to a immediate smaller rank, open the 'n' map,
and click where you want it to go.
then press the right or left button re-open the "n" map,
and repeat. the corps hasn't got many divisions,
usually three or four.
a great way of moving (and maybe the only practical) an entire corps with thee or four clicks.

i'm no expert either, in moving armies. i just use the arrows a lot,
they are very helpfull.
for instance you have napoleon.

with tapping the arrow down, you get to his marshalls.
tapping right or left get's you the different marshalls.
so when you get to the corps you want.
tap the down arrow once more and you get his generals, through them
with left or right open the 'n' map and click where you want them.
back, select a different general (with right or left) and repeat.

So making more maps is the answer?
