Overall, who do you play as more? Just curious!

Edit: I wanted to add "even mix of both" but can't edit it now.

I suggest adding a third option - No Preference

That's mine. Not in a negative way, it's just that both sides have their advantages for entertainment. The French are fun because they are the underdogs, the Allies for their diversity.

I started with the French - in fact I only use d'Erlon in Corps vs Corps battles now.

That's just to gain familiarity with the troops and their qualities and improve my game. At some point I will switch sides.

I'm happy to play with any nationality. Sandbox games when playing as the French seem to present more of a challenge for me. So that's been the main side I've played, plus as RebBugler says the underdog status is appealing.

I tend to play as Allies - I do have a bad tendency to do this for all games I play but being English then I was brought up on movies and comics that always had the Brits as the good guys and I heard all my relatives stories of the war. I must get out of this habit :)

My favourites are the Spanish (very wacky and poor quality, so very challenging) or the Russians (12 gun 12pdr batteries anyone?).

Napoleon! The greatest (and as a consequence the most studied) military commander in history.

For me playing the French seems natural. The defeated. I like to approach the Battle differently to see what the outcome would have been if Napoleon had given different Orders. I have found that attacking Papelotte first, securing Wellington's Left Wing and swinging the whole French Army Left to face 9 Oclock always finishes with a good result for the French. I only harrass Hougomont with 1 Brigade and hold the remainder in Reserve. Worth Trying.

Soft spot for the Nassauers as they are also in my 25mm collection. But French all the way!
