Div Art Cos'

Anybody

At the time of GB, did the divisions have Divisional Artillery Commanding Officers? Been playing the Longstreet scenarios from TC2M, usually the last Div to show is Anderson. So I have Anderson give the Reserve Column comannd directed towards a VP site. The column is so freaking long it takes forever to get there, never mind getting the units into position. There's a big open field nearby that runs parallel to the road. With a Div. Art. C O TCd and give the order to line up all my batteries across the field is something I'd find interesting to do, then move batteries as needed. Just Thinking. :dry:

Artillery on both sides was organized into artillery brigades of 4 - 8 batteries. The Union had an artillery brigade with each infantry corps and a reserve of 5 artillery brigades. The CS had smaller artillery brigades with each infantry division and a separate corps level reserve of two artillery brigades each. All of these organization levels will be represented in game although the area is still one of active development.

Will the union's massive artillery reserve be in the game since in TC2M nobody really seemed to think it was important. Did anybody catch Battle Star GALACTICA on sifi friday night it was awsome.

The manual for the new game ought to be quite interesting, and probably worth every dime put into it, cuz it sounds like you have one awesome game coming out. :)

Every unit that was present on the field and available for action is included in the oob for each day. We will also supply an oob that has every unit that was present at any time during the battle. It will have the initial 'Strength Engaged' for each unit. We don't expect anyone to play this full oob as the number of units really slows down even the fastest of current systems. It is more a 'one stop shopping' location for people building mods and scenarios.

This is an old question, " Is the OOB(s) Printable? or included in manuel?" Personally, I like to check off units that have routed or have been captured on a printed master OOB, saves time scrolling through every corps on screen and add notes about each unit on the OOB if not completely covered by what you release. IMO a printed OOB is a faster source of info (less clicking) and easier to review, especially in SP pause.
Just by sighting a unit I'd be able to go to the printed OOB to get an idea who or what I'm up against (strenth/quality/arms/organization). I'm not saying to eliminate on screen OOB, but have the abilty to have both printed and on screen.

What I do now is click, save a scenario, click again for End Battle, click the review the OOB of both sides, then click on saved file for that scenario, click load game, click, then return to game, a PITA.

That's a great idea. Mike, let's make sure to include the OOB's in the manual.

Would it too much for an Vista 8 giga with a 512 card?

Yes. Not even the fastest machine out there can handle the full OOB. You'll probably be able to at least load it, but the frames per second will be much too low to play the game.
