"Jump to" Function

Hello everyone.

Just bought this game today, and it's my first SoW product, so please be gentle.

I have read the manual, and I have searched for "camera" function in this forum, but I wanted to know whether there is a camera jump to function.

I am finding moving the camera around the battlefield by mousing to the edges of the screen a bit tiresome, even with camera speed set to max.

In the Combat Mission series for example you can use CTRL+left click to jump to another part of the (visible) map, and this might be a useful feature to add.

I will be suitably embarrassed, if someone can point out how to do this already!

You can jump to any location by opening the map with the M key, and clicking on the location.

You can also use the ASWD keys to move the camera around (this is explained in the tutorial) instead of mousing the edges.

Welcome to SOW. :)

Thx for your reply and for your welcome, Little Powell.

I had tried the ADSW option, but the camera speed seems identical to mousing over the edges.

I'll try the jump map 'M' option.

Cheers.

I'm like you, the default camera speed with ADSW is way too slow for my taste. I usually bump it up to 70 or so on Page 3 of the Options.

Hhhmmm...tried that already. Still not quick enough for me to move around the battlefield as I'd like.

I'll play around a bit with the camera options and see where I get to.

Thx for your help.

Just use the map and click around. Easy and fast.

Yep, clicking anywhere on the map takes you instantly to that location.

Thx guys.

I've been trying 'M' + left click, and, once you get used to having to orientate yourself using the compass as well, it works pretty well.

It would still be nice to have a 'jump to' feature, but I can certainly live without it and am enjoying the learning curve - lots of manual + sandbox at the moment.
