Try deleting ScenarioEditor.ini file in the Documents/SowWL folder if you have not already tried.

I only just started to test out SDK late last night and found that after running the .exe I was unable to run it again with the Warning-SOW ScenarioEditor Failed With A System Argument Exception And +Illegal Character In Path+ on my screen!

After trial and error I found that if I remove the ScenarioEditor.ini file the editor loads ok, the only problem is I have to do this each and every time for the .exe to run

At least it's a workaround until the developers can sort it out for me.

Hope this helps other players if they are having difficulties.

As I suspected, mods with accent marks and diacriticals are causing problems:
modname4=Mods\Monta?a Sagrada WL
modname5=Mods\R?o Espa?ol Map WL

The ini file text encoding currently does not support these characters. We will fix this, but for the moment, use this workaround:

Delete the ScenarioEditor.ini
Remove the problem mods or rename them to remove the accent marks.
