Allow the player to issue orders to units during Pause.

I'm requesting that this feature be added to the game simply to assist Single Players vs. AI in the large scenarios.
Waterloo Napoleon's Last Battle computer game had this feature, and, I played that game extensively. It very much helped to be able to issue orders to units with the game in Pause.
Thank you.

Popular request. Just isn't feasible with the current game engine, or so I've heard in team discussions.

I think it would make the game insanely easy, although if players want it the option should be there... unless of course as Reb says the engine isn't designed to allow it.

The game engine itself apparently doesn't allow this mod, so, I guess the issue is closed.
It would be a helpful feature in Single play vs the AI in the largest scenarios.

Not being able to issue orders during Pause would normally be a "buy killer". The player is not just a commander, but rather the entire command group. Realistically, even in a game, time needs to be expanded to cover the several functions being performed by several individuals.

It's an interesting view on how the game should be played, but it goes against realism. I wouldn't advocate agaisnt such a playstyle as it's your own choice but I don't think that it's a "must-have" feature in this game as opposed to say, NTW.
As a commander on a battlefield, you obviously wouldn't be able to fly around the battlefield and have the full knowledge of the situation all of your troops are in at all times. You would have to rely on your subordinates to make the right decisions when you aren't close enough to their units. Being the "all seeing eye" give you an unfair advantage over the enemy in SP.
One of the goals of the AI in this game is to make it so that you only have as much to do and command as a commander in real life would, without needing extra time to micromanage troops. Unfortunately the game in many ways hasn't reached this goal.
I definitely wouldn't be against such an option for other players if it's at all possible to implement and wouldn't take too much time.

Most people would be in favor of any number of options available in a Single Player mode. If the conversation concerns Single Player vs. the AI and ONLY this mode, why would someone oppose an option that somebody else may use, if that is their preference? If one dislikes a Single Player option, turn it off when you play vs. the AI.
Now, in MP, it's completely different because one must conform to the format preferred by the MP Group.
In Single Player? I personally would not care to dictate whether you play with "Orders-during-Pause" toggled on or not. There are probably lots of people with various disabilities that really NEED this option in order to play the larger scenarios. It would be great if they had that option, and, I doubt that any reasonable fan of the game would vote to deny them that option.
