American War of Independence Mod

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

I've tried downloading these files 3 or 4 times and I'm getting 0 bytes files every time. Mediafire is just insanely slow as well :(

Downloaded from the new link, switched off all other mods but still can not get the mod to work (always crashes when I press space bar to begin battle). Is there a specific map that the mod runs on? or should it be OK on any map?

all the links included below are "dead":
"New downloads links have been put up below

www.mediafire.com/?iwbx54bl5i5xjow,2a8c ... d0k923y38q

www.mediafire.com/?iwbx54bl5i5xjow,2a8c ... d0k923y38q

A link to the zip file necesssary to extract the folders

www.mediafire.com/?iwbx54bl5i5xjow,2a8c ... d0k923y38q"

i then went here: "www.mediafire.com/download/l4hrytk5aokr ... ndence.zip"

ok, i got the download "ok"...and put the one folder in my MODs game folder, and turned it on"...but it does not show up anywhere when trying to make game selections? i'm obv. missing a "step" somewhere, any ideas?

(and, assuming i can get my download to run...is there any reason i couldn't mail a flash-drive with these files to my brother, have him install in his SOW-GB and then play online via the lobby?)

Just a couple of suggestions if you got to the press spacebar stage. Try right clicking on gettysburg.exe file and running as "trouble shoot compatability". Check the logfile to see what the mistakes are if it doesn't start and let me know what it says.

I am at the moment downloading the file onto my computer to see what is wrong will report back as soon as I can.

Just to say that for me the download worked fine, and the mod runs ok. Other thoughts:

Bodkin - perhaps you can give Remus a copy of your SOWGB log file? It's in the work folder.

JohnVW - have you got more than one copy of GB? Have done that that myself, and ended up installing mods to the wrong one. Hope that's not a case of grandmother sucking eggs

Remus - in the commander select screen, all of the brigades are listed as cavalry for some armies. I think that *may* be because you don't always include corps commanders in the OOBs, so the chain of command skips from army to division.

Hope that helps. It looks to be a very nice piece of work.
