Greatcoats

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Greatcoats

Post by RebBugler »

This mod enables the TC2M Federal Greatcoats mod for SOWGB play. The troop sprites have been re-colored to better match SOWGB textures.

Five sprite types are included for each side:
Infantry - kepi, blue pants
Iron Brigade - brimmed black hat, white pants
Regulars - kepi, white pants
Officer
Artillery

Although not included in the original mod, identical but grayed CSA sprites have been included to provide both sides with winter uniforms and additional modding possibilities.

Once enabled all Sandbox and User Scenarios will display Greatcoats' sprites. A sandbox-scenario has been included for a quick look at both armies facing off, it was used for testing, it's called '-Greatcoats'.

EDS (Enhanced Death Sprites) is utilized with this production, so no need for BloodBath.

I believe credit for the sprites goes to Tim, looks like his fine work. Thanks to Dean80 for providing the download link making the sprites available for conversion.

Unzip and copy to the Mods folder (Unzips with 7zip, free download...)

Awesome! My first day moving over to SOWG/SOWWL and I find those greatcoats that gunship made that I always loved. *thumbs up* :woohoo:

Just tried the link and it works for me.  Maybe your anti-virus app is blocking it.

Could someone else check this download link, it should be safe, it's from the old reliable NSD server.

Hey Reb,
The link worked for me also, no issues...
kentucky orphan, just checking that you are clicking the word Greatcoats  (actually the link) just above the first picture that Reb shows on the 1st post in this thread ..
Hope this helps....

Very strange. Just tried again, nothing. Everything is good on my end, just downloaded couple of scenarios off of "The Blitz" wargaming site for Campaign Series WW2 game.

Also, as a test, I just redownloaded the "True Ground" and "Maryland Campaign maps" with no problem.

Hey,
I've been trying to hunt down mods here myself and I did manage to download Greatcoats. What I did was use Internet Explorer. For some reason, it wouldn't let me download with Chrome. I guess the security system blocks it.
