Chickamauga

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

I love this, so much so that I've had a new dabble in the old game - lot'sa life in it yet!

On the road to getting a nice tree balance hopefully. ;)

It seems everything you touch turns postcard perfect, I continue to be amazed.

I've gotta say that the vegetation colors are more accurate for mid September in northern Georgia. For as I was beginning to design these Chickamauga scenarios in mid to late September here in the mountainous woods of Arkansas, on or about along the same parallel with northern Georgia, the fall LOOK (leaves turning colors and falling) had not yet begun to arrive.

Once you get your terrain mod ready and posted I'll link it here to give folks an alternative map look while gaining the Chickamauga battle experience. If your mod is exclusively for the Chickamauga Map, then you're most welcome to post it here. I'll then link it to the first post.

Thanks for your contribution toward this effort!

Yep, such excellent work is inspiring. Made me want to revisit the ACW games too.

I've been experimenting with the ground textures on the stock GB, Antietam plus the Chickamauga maps. You can have the CH map if you want it. Just need to finish off the last few tweaks.

Obviously all of the credit is due to the original map maker, MT.

Great looking textures. I would very much like to see a mod that changes the older GB battlefield terrain textures to ones more in keeping with NSDs latest work. I think the Pipe Creek maps could greatly benefit from such a treatment.

Crikey, that's looking really sweet - I'd love to have your new CH work if you can send it!

Sorry to digress somewhat, but Reb mentioning postcards reminded me of this haunting but poignant colorisation I did some time ago - not for the squimish!

David

It's taking a bit longer than expected as I've started re-texturing some buildings. All being well, it should be done in a week or so.
