Can you save game and resume later in a multiplayer game?

Post by DarkRob »

Hi guys, so my dad created a multiplayer scenario of the full battle of Ligny using the French scenario "The Eagle Triumphs" based on the advice we got in this thread http://www.norbsoftdev.net/forum/96-dis ... -scenarios and he did a fine job and everything worked fine. We played through about 2 hours of it and then saved it. The next day when we attempted to pick it up again and reloaded the save game the game loaded up frozen for both of us. The clock stopped and all the troops on the battlefield are frozen in place. Like the game is paused. The game would only resume once one of us left the game and it was essentially single player again. Is there anyway to save and reload multiplayer games? This was co-op vs AI by the way, My dad was Napoleon, I commanded Gerards Corps and the AI was the Prussians.

Unfortunately the answer is no; there is no MP save game option.

NSD - it would be just FANTASTIC if you could build this option in though!

The only work-around our group has found for a need to stop and resume an MP game is this:

HITS & Couriers - a different and realistic way to play SoW MP.

Thanks Saddletank. Im pretty much stunned by this. The fact that NSD would have multiplayer scenarios like the full Waterloo battle at like 9 hours long and not think to add a basic function like being able to save the game blows my mind. Like who could sit down and play a 9 hour scenario in one shot?
