Just got both Waterloo and Gettysburg

Hey guys!
I am pretty new to the series and since matrix kept on reminding me that their sale was on its last days and I just realised I haven't gotten a new war game in a while so I thought to drop over their site and get some new ones. I browsed and I realised I had too much WW2 games and needed to expand my library so I picked Waterloo and its DLCs.
After wrestling with the controls and finding out about the better UI, I fell in love with it. Sunk a few hours and loved moving troops around and the muskets are music to my ears. Now I ended up getting gettysburg and though the controls (especially the troop facing positioning) feels wonky compared to waterloo, I must say that the UI is leaps and bounds better than waterloo. I do hope in future expansions waterloo will be brought to that level of good UI and it would be perfect.
Here are some other things I think would help Waterloo
- UI needs to be brought to Gettysburg level
- As good as Waterloo is, I feel kinda sad that it will only be covering Waterloo and battles close to it. So no other Napoleonic battles? Would be nice to see all of Napoleon's battles such as Marengo, Austerlitz and Borodino.
- Option to just plop up X number of brigades/divisions/armies on top of the option to pit actual OOBs against eachother?
- Easier way to check and pick units in forts? Clicking the name then go to unit can be tedious
- Easier way to monitor your OOBs. I am a sucker for lists and tables such as the ones in Gary Grigsby's War in the East/West. Would be nice to make OOB screen much easier to navigate.
- Improved campaign mode. I know the strategic side isn't the main draw of the series but something like Sengoku Jidai: Shadow of the Shogun (I think it was in pike and shot too?) where you are given X points at the start to buy your troops and then as turns go you can replenish your points and get more troops from provinces. I haven't delved in to the sandbox campaign yet and would greatly appreciate someone telling me if I am missing something because from what I can see it is just same OOBs but with a strategic layer.
All in all the games are great. I wish they come in those beautiful new books that matrix games started to do with their recent games. Consider me a convert to the series and looking forward to all your upcoming games.
