GCM website domain

Post by exp101 »

This morning the website domain for GCM (SoWMP) is reported as having expired. I've sent a message to Garnier asking what we need to do in order to get it back up again.

Heard back from Garnier a moment ago. He said the website is supposed to auto-renew, so he's looking into it.

Just exchanged a note with Garnier. He's looking at it.

You guys always seem anxious to panic.

Garnier's away from internet just now and unable to address the problem. I suspect he'll be able to fix it when he's back in civilization.

A few years ago Garnier created a GCM Offline Game Generator, the link for which I just found in the forums. It's limited in that it's not possible to use our regular campaign divisions, but we can use either random or historical divisions to make games on SoWGB Stock and GCM modified maps (not random maps). This will give us a chance to play until Garnier can get back from his travels and fix the website.

If you're interested in playing one of these, join us at regular game time on Monday (30 April). If we can get at least six players, I'll host one up.

Ron Kevin's scenario generator could be used too. It works for both Gettysburg and Waterloo and quite easy to use. If I remember there is a way you could add the maps you want to use from your GCM collection too.

Seems the scenario generator can't be reached either.
