To Hosts Using 'Specialty Maps' (e.g., Manassas) in GCM Games

Post by exp101 »

This note applies only to hosts and only those hosts who wish to use the new specialty maps (Manassas, Chickamauga, Cold Harbor, etc.) in GCM-generated battles. (Those who don't host or exclusively use GCM Random Maps will get the new maps automatically when updating their Launchers, per usual).

In order to have these maps show up in your list of available maps when launching games, you will need to download and unzip a replacement file for 'maps.csv' located (for most users) at:
C:\MatrixGames\GCM\Data\GCSVs\maps.csv

This needs to be done afresh whenever GCM's Random Maps are updated (every 2 months or so), so that the latest GCM maps will appear in the host's list along with the specialty maps. I'll post an updated maps.csv file here each time the random maps are updated. The link to the latest maps.csv file is below:

Maps.csv file for 1/14/2017 Random Maps 1235-1259

I've added Lynchburg to the hosts' list. Lynch is a 5x5 mile map (same size as GCM Random Maps) and a free mod from NSD. To install the mod for GCM purposes, download from either the TS Entrance Channel file broswer or use this link.

Then:
Unzip it to your SoWGB Mods folder
Launch SoWGB, go to 'Modifications', move the Lynchburg mod above all GCM mods in your list and activate.
