Scourge of War Boards

Hi,

Playing as the Prussians I get to 20:04:25 and the game crashes with this helpful message. Some saves I took before that point crash immediately on loading, others run to that time and then crash.

This isn't the first time I have encountered this error. It's very disappointing having spent so much time playing a scenario to have it fatally bugged like this. It doesn't really make me want to persevere with this series.

Please advise, is there some log written to an obscure place that can be looked at?

Hi Majick,

log is located in your SOWWL folder in Documents folder. You have to look at it immediately after the crash happens.

What's the scenario you are playing? Have you some mods activated?

Thanks for responding. I'm playing the 2:30 PM P-Army scenario. The only mod I have activated is the Grog Toolbar Hi Rez.

I just tried with the mod de-activated and it still crashes

Probably the problem is the grog toolbar mod. I know RebBugler made Waterloo's scenarios available to play as user scenarios with his toolbar.

Have you restart from the beginning with mod deactivated?

No, it would probably take me a week to get to that point again from the start. Right now I'm not really in the mood to undertake that if I can't be sure the game will even end

Interestingly the toolbar visible to me was unchanged after turning the mod off so I guess it was never working anyway

Yes, that's because when you save a game, it also save the options and the mods you had activated.

As a test, you can start the scenario and "play" it at full speed just to see if crash also without mods activated

That's an older version of the Grog Toolbar, not even sure it's compatible with the latest patch. Another thing, make sure ALL scenarios are played through the User Scenarios window, otherwise they will eventually CTD.
