Memorial Day

Memorial is a great way to start the summer. It's somber rememberance makes it one of those days that no one can really protest. We try to get away for a day trip, but always forget that there is no where to go without crowds. Today we went to Bushkill Falls in PA. It's a pretty big waterfall in the Pocono mountains. A 2 hour drive took 4.5 hours. We couldn't stay long because we left the dogs at home, but it was a truly beautiful gem hidden right off the Delaware River.

Beautiful place. Reminds me a lot of the Great Smokie Mountains in Tenn.

My family will spend the weekend planting flowers and barbequeing outdoors. I come from a long line of military men, and know how deeply holidays such as these affect my older relatives. Gives one a sense of awe at the courage displayed by those who place(d) themselves in harms way to insure us civilians can continue living our lives in peace.

I wonder if that is why we tend to make this a family weekend. All those families broken up by war makes us hold on tighter to what we have.

I would like to thank all those that are in the service now and those who have worn the uniform previously. It is because of you that we have the peace and freedom to build games to recreate this part of our history.
