Mr. Allingham was the last surviving original member of the Royal Air Force formed in 1918 and attributed his longevity to "cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women".

Raise a toast my friends here at NSD, to a True Hero.......

Here's to you Mr. Allingham sir, to your Comrade's in Arms and to "cigarettes, whisky and wild, wild women".

RIP Mr Allingham. I live very near the nursing home Mr Allington spent his last years in and saw him on a number of occasions at Armistice ceremonies. He was by all accounts a lovely bloke. Not only a surviving member of the RAF but prior to that was in the Royal naval Air Serive and served at Jutland. Here's to him and his generation.

I can only imagine looking at the current world through his eyes. The vast expanse of experience must have given him great wisdom during his last decades.
