Scourge of War Boards

Very cool movie. Is India really this horrible in their slums? I cannot imagine living in those conditions. Also, who were the the guys that killed his mother. They said to kill them because they were Muslims. But the only other groups that I know of are Hindus and I didn't think they were prone to violence.

I didn't really like this movie, but my step-mother's parents went to India on a humanitarian mission and they said the slums were horrible.

I read a book by Dan Simmons, Song of Kali, that was about India. Probably one of the 5 most horrific books of all time for parents. He described what it is like there, it sounds like a horrible place if you are poor. But the Indian friends I've had, tells me that it's a wonderful place if you have the cash.

A guy that I work with goes to India a couple times a year for business. He talks about how horrible the slums are.. And it's interesting (and pretty tragic really) that they believe that if you are poor in this life, it means that you will be rich in your next life.. So that's why very little is done about the poverty over there, and there is no such thing as welfare. No unemployment benefits, food stamps, etc. If you don't work, you live in a shack on the side of the road. If a new building is going to be built where your house/shack is, they just bulldoze right over it.. That's when the "bulldozer chasers" come out.. They are people that chase behind the bulldozers, looking for materials to build their shacks...
