So I'm at the preseason game last night and they make the announcement. We think it's a big joke. It's noisy, then quiet. What they heck are they thinking?

I actually could care less about what he did. It's a culture thing IMO. Other countries eat dogs, do dog fighting. We pick and choose what animals it's cool to be cruel to, and what animals are untouchable. I love my dogs, but they are dogs. If he did something to a human, it would be different. But with dogs, he served his time, he deserves a second chance. Everyone deserves a second chance, we would all want one for ourselves, our kids.

Some of the stuff he did is just cruel, but we can't be there, we can't know exactly what the circumstances were. I wouldn't do it, but I'm not a young cocky kid with way too much money.

My problem with Vick is none of the above, I just think he's a crappy QB. He does it all on his own, and is a bad team player. Maybe under the Eagles he'll learn how to be a good QB. Who knows? I believe that given what he's been through, he's going to really try his best. Here's his chance. I cannot imagine him messing up again, but it's possible.

I'm listening to the press conference now. I don't believe that he really feels that what he did was that wrong. I just think he cannot believe how stupid he was to break the law in such a way. He's grown a lot, so let's hope that he can now be the QB his talent gives him the chance to be.

That surprises me Norb. Especially if you are a dog owner. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if I didn't say I was disappointed in your position on this, I'd be lying.

He should have been banned from the NFL for life for what he did to those poor animals..

But I guess if they banned every NFL player with a criminal record, half of the great players would be gone.

Why don't we just shoot him like the CEOs except with the CEOs we take away there credit first then let them see what it is like to be out on the street then put them all in a room and use a Napalm bomb and let them burn.
Then we can go to the moon again then to Mars since the those bastard CEOs money would be invested in it.

You could probably say the same for any professional sport. It is my belief that most players are overpaid, arrogant snobs. Vick is just the extreme bottom of the barrel, and I believe he should have been lined up against a wall and shot...repetitively. (Ok, maybe that's a metaphor, but still.)

I probably didn't express that point well. I just had this debate with my wife and she believes that he should be out of the NFL forever.

My dogs are all rescue dogs and they are part of our family. They are better than a security system and I consider that their job.

I believe that he deserves a second chance. I believe that he served his time, his crime did not harm nor put a human in any danger. He did his time, so I believe that he deserves a second chance. So it's not really I don't care what he did, it's more that his class of crime deserves a chance to come back. Now that he has paid his debt.

If it was someone in my family, I would want them to get a second chance.

His crimes are morally and ethically hideous in my eyes. But that is a judgement call based on the culture I grew up in. Had I grown up in another part of the world where they eat dogs and have chicken and dog and bull fights, I might feel differently. I just try to put myself in the other person's shoes.

But even if you disagree with me on that, I will still say that everyone deserves a second chance, unless their crime was harming a human. I would want one.

I think Vick is an overrated QB also. I don't think he understood the Team concept either. Doing it on his own basicly ended up getting him injured.

But who knows, maybe he'll learn the Eagles system, and do well in the game. I do however think he's going to get boo'd in every stadium he walks into, and will no doubt be hearing every insult shouted at him.
But if he can keep his cool, and not flip anybody off, he might just do well.

The biggest test for him will be, the people he chooses to surround himself with, and what impact they'll have on him.


Being a diehard Cleveland Browns fan, I do pity him if he's on the field in Cleveland near the Dawg Pound. The sky will darken with all the Milkbone Dog Biscuts flying in his direction. But hey, they'd be throwing them anyway.


And I think he deserves a second chance as well. The man did his time. I hate the concept of fighting any animals for any reason.

But he was tried, convicted, and served his time.

Michael Vick gets 18 months for cruelty to animals and Donte Stallworth gets 30 days for involuntary manslaughter due to his driving drunk. How does that jive? The NFL will probably suspend Vick for 6 games and Stallworth is suspended for a year. Apparently a dog's life is worth about 2/5th's of a human life in the eyes of the NFL. Both guys pretty much suck IMO.

Both of these guys should out of the NFL for life !!!

When you read the way Vick killed these dogs, how horrible it was !!!

He should have been made to feel one of those ways !!

Stallworth should still be behind bars for killing that person drunk driving !

It shows us how high & mighty these guys are, but if this was us, the little guys, we would still be behind bars for a lenghty stay.

The same for Plaxico Burris, I am glad the G-Men got rid of him, though we missed him last year after he shot himself in the thigh. But, he broke a law and should pay.

If any of the above instances happened to us, you can bet we would have been fired by our employer !!!
