I HATE THE NEW SITE

It's too hard to read, etc. etc. etc.

Well then do something about it. I just don't have time to deal with everything right now. I want this to be a community site, so as the first members of the community over here, take part.

This site is JOOMLA and a Joomla template is what defines how the site looks. You can create your own template or find one that you like. Here is a good resource:

The forum that I use is fireboard. There's templates for that too. Just post what you like and if the team likes it too I will switch the site.

There are also alot of resources on the site above, plugins that you can add to the site. If you see something that you feel would help the site, let me know. It's usually not a big deal to install a new plugin, that's what makes this site great.

So stop complaining and find a better look!

Speaking of the site, I have no idea why the quick reply boxes are open all of the time now. I just upgraded the forum to the latest version, which did fix some issues. I also got rid of the chat client, which significantly sped up the loading of the front page. I figure everyone will end up chatting in the lobby anyway.

Just wanted you to know that the site is starting to look real good now.....I remember talking with you about how slow it was bringing up the page..... since you got rid of the chat client, everything does load really fast.

Now.........is there any way we can put Red in his own room?:lol:

Thanks JC, it does seem that the chat client trying to update the front page status was really slowing things down. I don't think Red is over here yet, so we'll just keep this a secret

I did find out that the quick reply boxes are a bug in this new version, so we'll just have to wait for a fix. I've looked at other forum solutions and I can't find one that's better than this (which means this is the simpliest solution for my newbie Joomla skillz).

Another thing that I've noticed is that before, after I read a post, it would still stay lit up, even after I had clicked the "mark all posts read"; was kinda throwing me there a bit.
Not sure of what else you've done, but I'm not having that problem anymore.

Well glad to see that their patch fixed something. Actually these reply boxes are not too bad once you get used to them, you don't have to go to another screen to type in your reply, makes things a little quicker.

One of the reasons that I chose this template is because it allowed for the wide forum. Most of the other templates had stuff on the right in all instances. This one allowed for removal of the right side so that I could keep the forum wide. Since the site template was dark, I had to choose a dark fireboard as well, since it uses some of the same colors. Otherwise we would have light text on a light background.

Hey Norb i've looked real hard at the different templates
and have come to the conclusion this one is the best of the bunch
you made the right choice there for sure lol

but i've seen alot of sites in webland going to this new style
it is the wave of the future for sure and your game site could have a leg up on the other titles
just think about it your game title picture in the back ground
multiplayer user screenshots on the spinning wheel..
or your own shots if you want or no spinning wheel at all
its so moddable just like your game

Ok i know i just stopped you in your tracks
just listen they dont sell the template you've got to join theclub
now i dont know how much it cost if anything at all
but even if it did it is well worth it this baby rocks to no end
it is fully customizable you can have up to 13 modules setup the way you like it.
everything seems just right from the size of the text..
to being able to easly change out modules its alittle different at first
but its a web designers dream come true within 10 min i was changing out things in the demo like a breeze.
just take a moment look through every menu option features tab/tutorials tab on the demo
and read what this baby can do its amazing i think..
like i said you can play around with the demo
comes with a bokoo amount of inter-changing options it inless my friend

i've being playing around with Rocketheme
i personally think this is the best thing out today
they just dont get no better than this i love it...
i wish my ISP would let me load something like this...

i have a feeling if you went to this style your site would sore through the roof

OK, you have my attention, looked at this and it looks good. Now go a step further and tell me which one you recommend for us. Check out their server and see what ones you like. If we can agree, I'll do the cost to join to get the template.
