Chickamauga

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Crikey - Excellent Pictures, it seems that MarkT has created a Map that quite a few Modders has taken a interest in.

I like the wooden structures that you have changed, never did like any of the brick-structures, they just don't seem to fit in with my view of the Civil-War.

I see that you got that wagon to work without displaying square wheels.

Keep up the Great-Work!

Update, new scenario:
Unzip and copy to the scenarios folder
The attachment CHI09-TheFinaleAfternoonofthe20thC-Army.zip is no longer available
This scenario is unique from the previous scenarios in this series in that it allows for unrestricted play, i.e.; units are available immediately allowing for the player to choose when and where to attack.
Historically the Confederate attacks began in piecemeal at Horseshoe Ridge and worked their way east. By five PM (3:30 game time) the full assault was underway. Units held in reserve were Humphreys' Brigade, Hood's Division, and Forrest's Cavalry Corps, of which saw limited skirmish actions north of the main attacks
(I'm guessing Sarge won't opt for the historical route now that he has Forrest's full corps at his disposal :woohoo: ).

To make this scenario more competitive the historical withdrawal of Union troops toward the end of the day is not included. The Army of the Cumberland will fight to the bitter end, placing the burden of vanquishing them on the player's tactical decisions, initiative, and overall strategy.

Frankly, this is the 'Finally, The Rebels Get to Kick Butt' scenario. Even if I scripted it historically and restricted Rebel resources likewise it still would be difficult to make it more competitive due to the Union forces that deserted the fight in the previous scenario.
So, the reins are off Reb Generals, feel free to kick those Yankee butts out of Georgia with this Grand Rebel Finale.
Main download updated through this scenario, first post.

FYI, I test all these scenarios without the carryover numbers, and for those that want to play them likewise simply adjust the pertinent line in the scenario.ini file (place a semi-colon ; in front of the 'CarryOverFrom=...' line).

Following is a very interesting revisionist account of Forrest and Wheeler in the Tullahoma and Chickamauga campaigns. In summary, the author feels they both performed poorly. Wheeler especially so, but even Forrest, who was clearly learning on the job at this point.

Of course the Forrest of 1864 was a very different and much more effective beast. Wheeler probably wasn't however :) .

Hi David

I can take a look if you like. At what point are you getting the error? Once packed? Suggests may be a csv error. If that fails and you have all the pngs individually, I can start from scratch to tackle the problem.

I'll send you a wip of the map today but still need to finish off a few bits incl buildings. I'll also send all the packed terrain I've been using plus the separate pngs.
