Re: McMaster from CWG2
There's the man! Couldn't agree more, some of my fondest memories with you guys. I've played once or twice MP but i'm definately up for getting more involved.

Re: chancellorsville help needed
<t>I advise something similar to JC Edwards- in broad strokes:<br/> <br/> Since you know you're likely to be flanked though the woods to your right, stay away from the woods to your right. This is actually a good thing, it buys you a lot of time because its going to take him forever to deploy, reori...

Re: Recommended strategy for Antietam Scenario Old Jack's Left Wing
<r>Thanks Powell <E>:)</E> Though sheer good luck we got John Hoptak as our guide at Sharpsburg a couple years ago (I believe I saw a post that you guys had him for a guide in your research, didnt know it at the time). That guy is awesome- I might of told the story in another thread that we asked hi...

Re: Attacking Arty
Do regs in skirmish take less casualties from canister? I never found this to be the case, but then again nobody stands up to canister for long so maybe its a question of degrees.

Re: Flanking fire so effective? Why?
<t>"im curious why a unit on your flank firing at you causes more damage than a unit right ahead of u..."<br/> <br/> This is a principle that applies to combat today as well (interlocking fields of fire). Think of it this way- if you are shooting at a line parallel to you, your bullet either hits th...

Re: Recommended strategy for Antietam Scenario Old Jack's Left Wing
<t>Pull back to compact your line and extend it to the right using the fences, let Early look out for your left flank in the west woods (the woods will slow the union down so dont worry about it too much, you should break hooker long before your left becomes a concern). Put all your guns on the tree...

Re: Burnsides bridge dry river bed ?
<r>Antietam Creek couldn't be 'hopped' over (apparently Douglas's memoirs written 20 years after the war were rife with this kind of hyperbole, and there is good evidence he was never near the creek that particular day). When people think creek they think of something a lot different than the Antiet...

Re: Burnsides bridge dry river bed ?
<t>The problem I see is that Burnside's entire corp can just cross over and overwhelm Jones, nevermind the fatigue penalties. I set his 3 divisions to storm straight across and was watching the bridge fight when i noticed the other 2 divisions were suddenly just about behind the confederates in colu...

Re: Better Brigade Behavior In 1.4
I noticed this too almost right away and its a wonderful improvement. Really improves the realism of the game.
