Re: Windows 8 crash report with log
<r>I have Windows 8 and the SoW Gettysburg program 'hung' on my m/c during a multi-player gamee. This was on an Asus N56V laptop with "Instant On" active; anyway it was very difficult for me to recover from the situation. I could not fully activate the Task Manager because (I presume) the SoW window...

Re: Gettysburg/Antietam: "Incompatible Maps"
<t>Update: I have re-installed all of the software from scratch (except that I did not delete any data files) and Antietam MP now seems to work! I don't know why that should be but I installed Gettysburg 1.5 initially, then Antietam and finally upgraded to G 1.61; previously I had added Antietam las...

Re: Gettysburg/Antietam: "Incompatible Maps"
This may not be a W8 issue, so I would appreciate some suggestions as to how we can locate the fault.
Also what other compatibility settings do you recommend?
Thanks ...

Gettysburg/Antietam: "Incompatible Maps"
<t>I have Gettysburg 1.61 installed on my Windows 8, build 6.2 laptop (ASUS N56V), in 'XP Compatibility' mode. I purchased the Antietam extension recently [Matrix Games] but it does not work in MP games - not all of the stars are shown and the logs indicate that there is a 'Map Incompatibilty' error...

Re: Looking around and finding (own) units
Thanks for that but where is the OOB button? Sorry to be naive.

Re: Looking around and finding (own) units
<t>Another gripe is that I often want to click on a unit shown on the map - to select it - but that results in the currently selected commander/unit(s) moving in that direction! It would be nice to have an initial "de-select" option so that the map is more independent.<br/> <br/> Also having a list ...

Re: How do I win the Division tutorial?
<t>Hooray! A minor victory yesterday - 241 points. All due to moving my guns early to the centre I believe, though they were obscured and often had to move around. I also gave individual '7' orders to each battalion.<br/> <br/> I tried using TC with the guns at one point but I can't see that it made...

Re: How do I win the Division tutorial?
<t>Thanks very much Jack - only the tutorial instructions advise the player to let the brigade commanders "do their own thing", to a large extent, which is why I did not run around much.<br/> <br/> <br/> So I will have a go at rallying my troops next time. I haven't tried TC (as such) yet either - j...

Re: Brigade Combat Tutorial
<t>It is very difficult to make a 'good' game AI that does not learn from experience - or any other kind, for that matter. I have run most of the tutorials now and I think that the developers have done a very good job, though there are some oddities IMO.<br/> <br/> Conceivably the behaviour that you...
