i have that question too. i understand that if under a (marshall) corps
commander you attach a general, then giving the order to a marshall to
go somewhere that would include the division general (the one you attched)
as well. but i failed to do so.

i think that they are detached. in the bottom where
the icons are, there should be a flag. the attach-detach
button.
if you want to attach a certain general under a corps commander,
you simply attach him with the flag button.
