Here you can talk about whatever floats your boat. Your favorite movie, sports team, etc. If it's a little racey, I suggest you post in R&R, otherwise we'll move it for you.
I want to say Happy Veteran's Day to all that have served to keep our nation Great & Free and to those who are currently serving in our Armed Services !
Remember, if you see a Veteran, Thank him or her for their service !

We cannot retreat. We cannot withdraw. We are going to have to be stubborn today
Thanks to all the veterans, past present and future.
You make a difference.

"My God, if we've not got a cool brain and a big one too, to manage this affair, the nation is ruined forever." Unknown private, 14th Vermont, 2 July 1863
To commemorate Veterans Day five of us went to the theater in Annville PA last night. The theater had a special showing of a documentary about Major Dick Winters of "Band of Brothers" fame. Major Winters narrated the documentary, the subject of which was lessons in combat leadership using scenes from "Band of Brothers" as examples of the discussed lessons. Major Winters also commented on what the mini-series protrayed correctly and what they modified for dramatic effect. Before the presentation, we had a light dinner in the adjoining/connecting coffee shop. Very enjoyable evening with new and appreciated insite into the events portrayed in the mini-series.
Tonight we head to the Lititz, PA Civil War Round Table to hear Dick Simpson talk about the 15th Vermont on the road to Gettysburg.

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

There's a petition circulating around the internet somewhere full of signatures to Congress stating that Winters should win the Medal of Honor. I think he more than deserves it.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.
