Simple Questions

I have two simple questions. Please forgive me if they are too basic.

I am sixty years old. I love play and enjoy TC2M almost every day.

I have never played an online game. I am nervous about trying it. MY son in law 40 yrs old may be interrested as I have told him about this new version of the game. How does it work. Can he and I just invite each other or do we have to go to a site with others? Are these free or do you pay for the time if it is a site.

The second item is that I love the screen shots. They all seem hazy though. I know it probably shows the smoke and etc. What about at a start of battle if it is clear will the map be clear. I like to just travel the roads etc. in TC2M now and look at the great computer art work.

You'll be just fine Sir,the community i'm sure will be more than helpful with learning strategies and tips.
yes you and another can hook up and play each other via direct IP host and host list along with a lobby were you can join...
if you like roaming the roads you'll find some interesting stuff along the way

i'm not completely sure how things will be Norb and others know more about that end of things....

No sir. They are just great, my wife thought I was looking at civil war paintings.
