I'd love to see all these era's covered, though honestly I too would like to see more of The Civil War...it's always overlooked by War Game developers, almost as if it's not important. Gettysburg is looking amazing, And the American Civil War had the most diverse amount of uniforms, weaponry, it saw the worlds first iron battlships, the worlds first submarine, the worlds first "air force." And there's so many amazing battles that can be covered, and all of them add something unique. I think it would be awesome to show a transition of warfare. To show how warfare has evolved after Gettysburg. With repeaters, and trench war fare....still tons and tons of battles can be covered, Sharpsburg, Vicksburg, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, Franklin, Nashville, Petersburg, Cold Harbor........tons and tons of Civil War stuff. Great job so far guys. Keep up the good work, and I hope to see a few more awesome Civil War titles to go along with GBurg.

I'm interested in the 1866 Austro-Prussian War. It wasn't as one sided as portrayed. The Lorenz rifle, used in the ACW, had long range compared to the needlegun. When range was brought into play and backed by the Austrians' superior artillery, as against the King's army on the morning of Koeniggratz, the Prussians wilted. The Austrians had the firepower advantage unless the Prussians could get their infantry up close, and errors by the Austrian rightwing corps commanders permitted the Crown Prince's army to do so in the afternoon.

Just one to throw in the pot.

I´d like to see a Napoleonic game from you guys. 2 games on the American Civil war and then move on to something different. Just my opinion.
There is nothing even close to this engine in the market now and I don´t think there will be any time soon. I include here products to be released in the near future.

As for moving to 3D models instead of sprites, I´m not so sure. From what I read there is a technical issue involved and it seems that if you guys put 3D models in the performance of the game will improve. This would be a big plus, no doubt.
However to have so many 3D models in the game you will probably need to make them very low poly. It will be hard to make them look as good as the sprites do now.

There is a prejudice regarding sprites, as if they were something from the past that needs to be put aside. Frankly I think the sprites in TC2M and in this current project, not only look beautiful, but do their job very well.

Gettysburg looks more like a painting than a photograph, which gives the game a nostalgic and even romantic look which is perfect for the subject matter. The sprites merge harmoniously with the 3D world and give it a great mood.
Moreover sprites are very clear and easy to see, so graphically they are a great solution which helps in gameplay. With so many troops, tress, smoke, etc., you still can spot every element very clearly, which is very important to plan your moves.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. ;)

Histwar demo is out. Everyone interested in Nappy should check it out. I need to find time to check it out myself. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this. I remember exchanging emails with this team when we were working on our first game.

Well, I had played HistWar demo before my previous post!

Napoleonic wars are a very interesting subject, obviously. And there are surely many interesting concepts in that game. I have been following that project with interest for quite some time. To me though, I feel there are too many things between me and the game, so that I could enjoy it even with more practice and getting used to the interface. Many rough edges also, which hopefully will be polished for the final release or in future patches.
I´m sure a lot of people will enjoy it though, specially if they are into Napoleonic wars. And congratulations to JMM for taking his project to the finish line. It is an incredibly complex project and it was a long journey.

Hi Norb (I write from Italy, so excuse me for my mistakes).
Yesterday nigth i've played the demo of Histwar and my first impression is that it's the most ugly game that i never played. The soldiers seem caricatures, the mechanism of play is too complicated, the sound of the gunfires is ridicolous, the background is poor.
Nothing to see with your masterpiece.
I've already played TCM2 had fun with it. Gettysburg look ten time better graphically so surely i'll buy it.
Congratulations. Go on in this way.

P.S. (Many thanks to www.wordreference.com)

Thanks Gunfreak. I guess it comes down to whether the demo will make you want to buy the full game or not. Does it show good promise? Does it play well? I gotta try it myself, but I would only be able to look at it from a technical aspect. I'm sure they'll clean up any bugs before release.
