Favorite Napoleonic battle?
Favorite Napoleonic battle?
I used to prefer reading about the Austerlitz campaign over any others, as well as Waterloo, but recently Wagram has really gotten my attention. It was such a well fought, tough, even, and unique battle that I really love it. I´d kill for a chance to play a game of Wagram.

Waterloo without a doubt.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.

Jena and Auerstadt were not bad either.

Re:Favorite Napoleonic battle?
If they can sort out some of the remaining issues with Demo2 the very ambitious and clourful game "Hist War Les Grognards" could provide some very good large scale Napoleonic battles like Austerlitz as well as opportunities to create your own OOBs,Maps , Tactical Doctrine and Napoleonic battles.

Re:Favorite Napoleonic battle?
For me this is the most important battle :
Lodi (1796) : the first great Napoleon's victory
The pyramide battle (1798) : a propagand victory.
Marengo (1800) : a miracle victory.
Ulm and Austerlitz (1805) : the perfect campaign of Napoleon
Iena and Auerstaedt (1806) : the symbol of supremacy of the French armies in the early 19th century
Friedland (1807) : the last specific napoleon tactics battle (troup mouvement)
The iberic campaign : a disastrous campaign. It's the most important error of Napoleon. This campaign was unfair, french veteran eater, and discreditable.
Wagram (1809): not really a battle, just a butchery. The french army use large art and big column and not more the soldier's leg.
Borodino / Moskowa (1812) : the last great napoleon franch victory. It's a tactic victory, but in the long time, a strategic defeat because the Russian are not destroy.
Berezina (1812) : the symbol of the french russian campaign defeat even if this battle was a french victory !
Dresde (1813) : This french victory would have meant the end of the war but Napoleon was too greedy
Liepzig (1813) : the end of the french Empire. The first napoleon himself great defeat.
Some battle from the campaign of France (1814) were great, Napoleon win 1 vs 3. But to the end, the allies are too strong.
Waterloo (1815) : a sad battle (£$%#!3µ of Grouchy !!!)

Got my copy of Histwar, gota say its very good indeed, wasnt sure some time ago but it has been transformed into really something.
The Demo is the old version the actual updated patched game is awesome
Also the MP is very good, it uses Raknet and does not suffer port problems, I found no jerky frame rates, and the game ran smooth

All the engagements in the Savolax area (Finland) during the Russo-Swedish war of 1808-1809. Leppävirta, Jynkkä, Toivala, Koljonvirta. All fought within a hundred kilometres from where I live and prominently featuring the Savolax Brigade where I served as a conscript 194 years later
