I re-enacted until a couple years ago when age and asthma caught up with me, however, I'm still in contact with the guys in my old group. It's strange, but as interested as the guys in my reenacting group are about civil war history, I haven't been able to build much interest with them about the game. I guess you just have to have that gamer mind set. However, I agree, setting up a demo at re-enactments in the sutler's area should generate a good bit of interest. On the flip side of the coin, when Sid Meier's Gettysburg came out years ago I invited a couple of them over for a quick look at it and then I couldn't get rid of them. They stayed 11 hours and we had to order out for pizza. So as you said, maybe it's a matter of getting someone to actually look at the game play.Does anyone here do Civil War reenacting? Would it be possible somehow at some Civil War events to set up a booth where people can see this game? That seems like a logical and good way to advertise for this game once it is out.
I don't know what kind of costs that would entail or if it would be even worth it.
I just have this image of someone bringing there laptop to an event and everyone crowding around it in camp checking out this amazing game... until said person's battery dies.

Thanks everyone for spreading the word. That's the best way to get the word out so that the lobby will be full of players.
One thing that I would really love to see is some good turnout this summer at Gettysburg. Each year we go there for a team meeting and some lan play. So maybe if the word gets out we can have a massive battle! We had a small group this year and it was a ton of fun, even though it was in a very early state.
