I took a quick glance through the forum and couldn't find a topic on the Infantry and Firing. Will we be able to command our troops to fire in Volleys, by file, by company, etc.....

Would it have been that way though ? I would have thought more sporadic would be more realistic maybe.

I'd say that if the situation allowed it, or required it...maybe the first few rounds, maybe even only the first one, were fired as volleys...the others were more sporadic - just as far as everyone reloaded and discharged...and as far as I remember this was well shown in TC2M...I loved the smoke rising from all of the regiment when it first fired...just like a volley...

I'm not a civil war expert...but more on Napoleonic times and the European wars from the beginning up to now...so I stand of course corrected...

Volley fire is not available in the game, but I believe it is on the wish list for a future expansion or patch.

if it's the way like it was is TC2M I'm happy anyway...but if we get the option for volley fire (like in ANGV) later - well...it's even better :woohoo:

What would be the preferred subject matter for an expansion? Chancellorsville? The Peninsula campaign? Shiloh? Chickamauga?

Keeping well known battles in the title probably equates to increased sales. Therefore, I would encourage NSD to address Antietam as the next game. Also, Antietam is close to large metropolitan areas where people may have developed more of an interest for Antietam since they may have actually had a chance to visit the field. My guess is that the casual gamer/historian will jump for an "Antietam" title quicker than he will one of the battles posted above. Although Shiloh is fairly well known, I don't believe it is as forward in the consciousness of people interested in the CW as Antietam. With the general public, probably Antietam is the second most widely recognized battle after Gettysburg.

I couldn't Agree more with you. Although I wouldn't mind Seeing Them Make a game For Fredericksburg or even Chancellorsville.
