I would hate to see reenactment video in the game. Waste of space.Hello,
I'm glad to play again at a neaw civil war game.
I'm a little bit disappointed, I have no fireearms sound and i really hate the "ploc" sound when we put a flag in location.
The sound environnment is very poor.
They are also no archive/reenactment video to make the environnment more ludic.
Ohhh, i m really sad that i didn't enjoy to play this game.
I prefered Take Manassas...

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

Gauvain,
1. investigate all the Options settings as the demo has rather low settings for low end machines (especially try "high" for Units).
2. try playing multi player as single player.
3. Don't judge the full game by a small tutorial.
4. The patch will handle most of your other concerns I'm sure.
5. video never worked for me either.

This was probably due to line of sight (LOS). If the enemy unit was on lower terrain, your unit might not have been able to see them. All of a sudden, the rebel brigade disappeared into thin air.
I had turned away for two seconds and looking back the regiment was gone, no fleeing sprites or anything to be seen.
Re:Observations after playing the tutorial
Hm. Maybe.
But I had three regiments firing at the rebel regiment from three different angles, so it doesn't sound likely it would be a LOS thing.
Anyway, I'm gonna try it again tonight and see if anything similar happens.

I just got through the demo. I enjoyed it! It had the TC2M feel like I wanted. I have a moderately high-end machine, not the greatest by any means, but I didn't experience any lag issues. The only note that I have in agreement with everyone else is the subdued battle sounds. Otherwise, it looks like the game is well on track! God speed, and I can't wait for the full release.

Well done SOWGB Team! Well done!
The only complaint I have, is that the roads aren't shown on the map. But I'm guessing the intent is realism, in that the roads probably weren't marked that well on the real maps anyway. But that's by no means a deal breaker. Guess I'm just used to the TC2M maps.
Bravo Gentlemen! And thank you again for all of the time you put into this!
Well.......back to Boot Camp! B)

Yay, won the toturial game, it's amazing how much better it went by a simple change in tactics.
Not a single of my regiments retreated a single time, I got away with a modest 136 casualties I only gave the enemy 280 my self, but I routed sevral enemies, the main enemy assault got cut to peices as they got attacked both front and rear. They did put up some resistance in the woods and heavy fire erupted in between the trees. in the end the enemy was split in two and destroyed picemeal.
No the greatest battle of the war, but a clear union victory 450 dead or wounded Union but a good 1400 rebs dead or wounded.
The lag was still there but less so, the loading was also much shorter
