Got it! Wooot!

The boys briefly got their dander up and then the wife crashed me to desktop. Grrrrr.....

Was that a tobacco field I was walking through? Very nice. By the way, I am running on a low end system and I was afraid of what larger numbers of troops would do to it. I am very happy to report that it was running as smooth as silk.

Great job!

What DRM system is in place?
You get an activation code and you can unlock the full game with the demo. If you ever want to move the game to another computer etc., you de-activate the game and move it. In other words, as long as you have the code, you have the game.
What happens if I format my hard drive or it blows up? The latter doesn't happen very often, obviously, but I format my hard drive at least once a year and it's easy for me to picture myself forgetting to de-activate the game first.

I understand you guys want to protect your game, but these kinds of limited activations always make me wary.

That's a good question. If it doesn't let you activate again after you download/re-install, you can always post in the tech support forum and Norb will unlock your code for you. Don't post your code in the forum of course. You get the picture. :)

Considering my past experiences with indie developers, I don't mind trusting you guys to unlock my code if the need arises. I just wanted to make sure that you'd be willing to do that, so thanks for the answer. I just bought the game. :)

Amish John:

My point was that if you have a pay pal account using that email address, you have to purchase through pay pal, unless you use a different email address. If you don't have a second email address, you have to use pay pal. No big. But it was confusing.

Just purchased the game and received my activiation code within about 5 minutes. I put it in on the start up page and got the activation activated screen :cheer: Oh happy days!

Then when I fired the game up I cot this message:

"Creative device Failed
D3DERR_Device Lost"

Windows (7) then went through its check problems and said the program didn't work. And went away leaving me staring at my desk top

I then noticed that SOW was sitting minimized in my tray. I double clicked on it and
:silly:   It worked! Unfortunately I still had it in HITS mode and I want to look around and get the feel for the game before I try that so I exited out and will try again. I'll let you know if I get that same message or if it was a one time thing.

Update: I have been back into the game a couple of times to test it out (old habits die hard ;) ) and no more error message the game plays fine.

From one of the old team to the new team: Great job guys.

Yes, the game is installed, and activated ; thanks to all ( Norb, and to the Modders )

Now, I'm off to find the Open Play ( SandBox ) mod, and see what I can do!

I purchased. I assume my code comes via email, yes ?
Hi Johnnie,

I have a PayPal account. I just bought the game earlier this afternoon. I used a Visa bank card and did not have to change my email address from what was on file with PayPal once I entered my PayPal ID and PW on the purchase screen.

John
Maybe that is what happened with mine. I have a PayPal account, but I didn't access it to make the purchase. I was just going to use the Credit Card purchase. I will try it again now.

Thanks for the info. :)
