Terrain Minimaps Mod - Available

Using my terrain generator from TC2M I've made textured minimaps for the SoWGB maps. I like to be able to see the terrain on the minimap.

INSTALLATION:

Extract the contents of the zip into your Scourge of War Gettysburg folder.
Backups of the original minimaps are included so you can switch back if you want to.

This mod will work in both SP and MP and will not cause compatibility issues.

I was kind of expecting a mod like this, thanks!

While the "historical" looking maps are pleasing to the eye, you have to be pretty well acquintated to the gettysburg area to make sense of it. The mcpherson map is ok, but I'm really struggling with the devil's den map.

Now, if you could be bothered, editing the minimap so that it also has text tags over the important landmarks then it would be even better. Especially when the mission objectives state something like "take the woods south of mummasburg road"

As soon as the SDK is released, I'll be able to generate these maps again with the location names in 5 minutes. Right now the map locations are not available except for the few you get each battle, so unfortunately it's not feasible to try to put the names on yet.

Do these mods show up in MP as well as SP?

Yes they do. However as I said in the OP, it does not affect compatibility in multiplayer.

I installed the mod but it made no changes.Seems like a very simple staightforward installation. I actually tried to install it several times. Another thing I noticed: I have been playing the single player scenarios as the federals and have been able to to continue on without having to play the confederate scenarios.I am just about through with the second day. Now I have to play a confederate scenario to continue. Not sure if that is the way it is supposed to be or whether the mod installation affected my progress. I will keep working with it though to see if I can get it working.I must be missing something although I cannot see how.

Have it running now and seems to be working good. Do not know why it did not seem to want to take the first few times.

It can't, all it changes is image files. Glad it's working.
