Game Stopped Working

Hi,

I purchased SOW on 3/28/10 and have been successfully playing until this morning. Now when I openned SOW it asked me for my activation code. When I enter the activation code and I get Error message (Cannot talk with registration server)(Activation Failed). My internet connection is good. The game then starts in Demo mode. I have verified my code online and it says allowable activations 1. Please help!

Things to try:
1. Go to scourgeofwar.com and verify that your code is valid on the verify code page.
2. Disable your firewall
3. Disable your virus protection (AVG causes big issues with this stuff)
4. Make sure you have admin privileges.
5. One thing that worked for us is to uninstall and then delete the folders (make sure you send us the activate.log FIRST). Then try to install again and activate the first time that you launch. This worked a bunch of times for our guys.


If all that fails, we will get back to you after we get a response from their support team. Again, we apologize for this and we will fix any issues you are having as soon as possible.

I had a similar issue. For me the fix was to do an uninstall of the game and then do a new download and installation. Before you do that, please email your 'activate.log' file to 'sowsupport at scourgeofwar dot com' to help Norb with debugging.
