Full Campaign and/or One Day Scenarios?

Post by richfed »

Very new to the game, but I don't see any full 3 or one day scenarios to play. Is that the way it is? Am I missing something? If they are not there, any plans to include them in the future? My favorie with Sid Meier's Gettysburg was always playing the Rebs beginning early the first day when the skirmishing was going on ... Anything like that in this game?

Just asking!

I think in all probability there will be.....If you play in open play (sorry sand box!) there are oobs for the 1st 2nd and 3rd days however after seeing other posts this is still to be worked on ...once the game is opened up you will probably have more oobs than you can shake a hat (or Kepi!!!) too
I only know two tunes...One's "Yankee Doodle" and the other one isn't!

I wasn't aware Sid Meier's Gettysburg had a full day scenario where you can play the full day in one go.

Unfortunately the came currently does not have a scenario where you can play through the entire day. Though I'd expect that users would make custom maps and scenarios that have exactly that.

The game "Take Command 2nd Manassas" (very good game that I'd recommend you try if you like this one) had a Gettysburg scenario that had all 3 days in a long epic 8 hour battle where you commanded the confederate forces.

There is actually two 3-day scenarios for SMG - one is the battle starting at 10:00am on July 1 and another starts on July 1 at about 0730am. The only difference is that start point for Buford engaging Reb infantry.

I suppose the "full" 3-day battle would be a campaign since it would require three different maps. I recall that Norb also indicated that their testing suggested that only very top-end computers could handle the full OOB onscreen at one time, so they didn't include it. As with many requests: just wait for the SDK!
