This might be worth to check out if you like the Civil War and always wanted to combine that with role playing:

A small group of people are currently hard at work to build a free MMORPG with the title "19th Century - War between the States". From the look of it it will be a mixture between Role Playing and Strategy and have a Social, Political and Economical layer as well. The declared objective is to portray the Civil War period true to history in an RPG environment (while following the war on an alternate timeline to give the players more freedom and make things interesting).
