Sound and Building Bug?
Re:Sound and Building Bug?
While it doesn't help with the Video memory, you can free LOTS of RAM using a freeware program called End it all 2. Seek it with google, it's a quick, cheap, easy program but it's a blast for freeing RAM with just one click

yea theres alot of different ways to adjust things, i'm thinking your vid card and sound card/onboard just aren't liking each other do you have another pc to try out/trouble shoot with.

I got it to work, at least last time I checked, with the buildings on "Best"...not actually sure what happened but it seemed like things were normal. I have yet to dl the Beta Patch so I don't know if that will do anything

Re:Sound and Building Bug?
Hi.
It's called managing one's CPU.
I have found that there is a conflict in resource handling. For instance, I have a strong audio card, but my video card is poor, so when my system tries to accomadate my video requirements, my system cannot process what I would like for the sound, so the sound cuts out. For me, I balance what I would like for video, and sound, too much of one will hamper the other.
Another GREAT factor is what difficulty your playing at? I play at normal. If I max out on my difficulty, I lose sound, I get bad fps, the houses disappear. So I always play on normal.
Find that balance that works with your hardware, and you will be fine.
Hope this helps...

Re:Sound and Building Bug?
It's working for the moment, I just hope the Beta Patch doesn't mess with anything

If any of our patches messed with anything I would make sure to warn you. But, it would take a pretty major bug for me to do that. I have no plans to ever make the saves obsolete or any of the other files. I know that can be very frustrating, especially with a game of this scope where you can spend many hours winning a tough battle. It's working for the moment, I just hope the Beta Patch doesn't mess with anything
