Setting up sandboxgame

Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

I must be doing something very wrong, can someone teach a noob?

Here's what I try to do:

Single Player, Sandbox game

Options set to historical.

Map: Culp's Hill
OOB: OOB_SB_Gettysburg_Day_1
Size: Corps vs Corps
Battle type: Defend
Score limit: 10000(Max)
Time limit: 0
Starting time: 12

I choosed Inf Brig: Brig Gen Solmon Meredith

I wanted/thought the AI should relay defend orders down to me.

I start the game and I see the Main obj just nearby.
I try to send orders request to my Div. commander(I reported condition is good) but everyone just sits still. Ok fine...so we stay put.

If I go to obj. it still shows as unoccupied(which is correct?) it says in the Battle Info that I need at least 1015 men and a commander to hold the obj. Solomon got more. Maybe it needs Div commander or higher?

Anyway 20 min. in the game the Main Obj dissapears!(I also noticed obj. is worth 12000 points total).

Now I have no orders and no obj. Open play? The attacking side can never get to obj. within 20 min. Can this be changed? I have tried different OOB but same problem.

When finally a conf. div reaches our flank our corps start to move.

Then I reicive a double order(2 couriers). First to hold the marked obj on the map. Then to move to the Indicated pos. on the map.

I have selected my div commander(the one who sent the message) then the map.
No objective and no strategic orders destination is marked on the map. I do see a black rectangle in the middle of the map(not even close to the fight).

I tried same scenario again but with custom settings(with All in sight set) then I would see the strategic orders star in the middle of the black rectangle. Perhaps this is also correct?

Well I thougt I obey orders and started to march on to the middle of the map where my div commander ordered me but I didnt march more than 10 min before the battle suddenly ended and said Routed! 0 points.

Is there some more settings i missed?

I actually have a report in for this. I will also add a note about possibly extending the OBJ time or having the option to do so.

I did get longer hold time if I set time limit to 240 min, then I got almost 60 minutes.

Still if u wanted to have only the victory points and endless time(time limit 0) it is kinda hard.

It also needs to be in relativity to the distance both sides start from each other.

If both sides start at each end of the map then the time needs to be longer.

If Attacking side is starting closer then time could/should be shorter.

Is it a random generator placing the units and the objectives?

Will it later be possible to place this ourselfs?

A random generator places the units, the objective list is from the map, it will randomly pick known points.

Probably, but there are no current plans other than make this much more user friendly.
