Lobby Chat App

Just wondering how useful it would and what features would be desired for a lobby chat app? Something small that shows the lobby so that you don't have to have the entire game open in order to visit. I know there is another solution out there, but it's not one I'm fond of.

Also, would it be useful to talk to guys in the game from the lobby? Would that be too irritating while you are in the game? Have you used the display chat box? I think it's F2

Would it be something like the "On Chat Now" that is on the bottom page of the MMG Message Boards ? or is this the "but it's not one I'm fond of."
