ATTENTION MP PLAYERS - Your help is needed in building the MP community

Post by Willard »

All -

For anyone interested in MP play, please contact me via PM with your email so I can reach out to you and others in setting up a regularly scheduled weekly MP game.

Having spent alot of time in the MP lobby, it is my impression that alot of potential new MP players are turned off from MP play because of the perception is that the lobby is empty and no one is playing MP.

Unfortunately we have alot of MP players playing and are setting their games up via Vent or Teamspeak. That is obviously a good thing, but we are missing an opportunity to successfully build the MP community - which in my opinion - is what seperates this game from CWBR and TC2M.

IF you are interested in helping set up a weekly game, please PM me with the following information:

-MP player name
-Email address
-Whether you can successfully host and would be willing to host a MP game

I am looking for a minimum of 12 players before working out a mutually convenient regular time & day and then advertising that here in the MP forum.

The only rules for this regularly scheduled game I would be suggesting to the group at this time are as follows:

-Balanced teams (i.e. 6 players show-up, therefore the game is 3 union vs 3 reb)
-Balanced OOBs (or the best we can do given the limitations at this point)

These games would be open to anyone who can attend and the purpose is to establish a regular game for all players in the MP community.

Once I *hopefully* garner enough interest and can establish a good time for all, I will be posting here to let everyone know when the first game will be scheduled.

I hope to hear from you!

*S*

A new forum has been set up for the SOW Community. Some guys are working on a campaign game to run there, but the campaign is just something to do, the main purpose is a place for us to meet and arrange battles.

This is the Forum.

This is the Teamspeak Info. Teamspeak is the most important part. If you want a game, stay on teamspeak and when people start one they'll let you know.
Play Scourge of War Multiplayer! www.sowmp.com

Playing this game in Mp is a really neat experience. I hope all who own this game will give it a try. Don't be discouraged if the lobby appears to be empty, because there usually are other players who do want in a game. Different people are trying to make it easier to get mp games going by club (AG) or Teamspeak, etc. Of course you don't have to have these to play MP. I like playing the game and will play with anybody (you don't have to join anything unless you want to). I am usually on in the late evenings 9-11 cst. If want in a mp or just to try it out and are wondering about other players being available just make a post. There are several guys who will help you out.

I hope this helps.
Last 2 days I've been really sick and have not been online. When I'm better I'll be back.

I am hoping to have a dump scenario option done for the official patch. With this option, you will be able to create a scenario from a game. This is a quick fix solution to creating and using MP saved games. Although movement orders will be lost, all units will begin in the same locations and strengths as when you left. So that when you come back, you load this scenario and the game should start out as it was. It will be up to you for everyone to choose the same commander they were playing before.
