Historical Scenarios Mod

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Historical Scenarios Mod

Post by Little Powell »

By request; I have created a mod that makes all of the historical scenarios available. The purpose of this mod was to make the historical scenarios easily available for players who can get intimidated by renaming and editing files. It contains all 20 historical scenarios with carryover disabled so that all are available to play from the start.

Just unzip the contents to your Mods directory and enjoy.

Hi,

I downloaded and activated this mod this out of curiosity as I have long ago renamed and adjusted all of the stock scenarios.

I don't quite see how this mod should work though. The stock scenarios still remain restricted re carry-over and I don't see any new user scenarios. There is no clash of scenario names.

Hi Ingles of the 57th,

Once you go into 'Modifications' at the main screen, select the Historical Scenarios Mod.Then Select 'Single Player' and 'User Scenarios'. Once there, you can select any of the Battles and play. I just played # 11 - "We want your guns". Without this Mod in order to play # 11, you must finish # 7 - On to the Round Tops.
Give it a try

Chamberlain is correct. Once enabled they should be in your User Scenarios. Look for the unique names GB01-MOD-July1-The Boys Got Their Dander Up (U-Cav Div)

Thanks folks,

No ....The mod is shown and properly activated as far as I can see but there seems no addition to my user scenarios.

I will try the whole download again. Something might have got corrupted between USA and darkest Africa. As I said it is really academic, actually, as I set up my own versions the day after the SDK files were released and I have many variants modded out of recognition.

I have Heth in 02 for example moving forward from McPhersons ridge via a series of rolling objectives to the centre of Gettysburg to collect from the boot factory the boots he originally came for. Not many men left to wear them though when he gets there. The Iron Brigade retain a great ability to reform and continue to harry further down the road.

Hi,

All worked fine after a re-download.

These scenarios will of course be useful to me as they are from the post-patch SDK whereas mine were still lingering in the past.

Great to hear. Bad downloads can do some crazy things. The other day, my game would crash on every other load of a scenario, due to a bad patch download.

Also good to hear you've started some modding. That Heth variation sounds cool!

Thank you ten times over for this mod. Maybe the developer will learn that it should have been an available option from the get go and include it in any future releases. The free scenario choice has made a great game even better.
