This is where we discuss anything multiplayer. From strategies, arranging games, to multiplayer related technical help. You will also find tournament and league information here.
... Please let me, firstly... apologize for ANY untoward remarks, or statements made to you or anyone else on the MP forums, or the TeamSpeak group. We exist, and grow by the addition of new member's and absolutely will not tolerate the belittling, or beratement of anyone.
We have ALL been "noobs" and can certainly relate to the learning curve involved in this game, and in particularly MP play. I am most certain that I speak for the majority of MP players on TeamSpeak in saying that there is a zero tolerance policy regarding the abhorrent behavior you have experienced and will not tolerate it in any form.
The leaders of our group (Paladin, etc.) have already contacted you to rectify this issue.
I, as a member of the group look forward to your participation and will... in every aspect assist you in that effort. Please feel free to contact me personally, or ANY of the moderators of the Teamspeak group.....
I will try to keep this brief. I have resisted for a while joining this forum, and have only very recently started to check it out. This is mostly due to the fact that before the last couple of weeks I was too busy playing MP games on this wonderfully addictive engine and not worried so much about the politics of the game. But - as it has become more and more difficult to find a game, I have begun to log on here - perhaps in search of remedies.
This thread provoked me and I can not resist adding my two cents. Let me say from the outset that I have always, by nature, stood up for the underprivileged, the littleguy, etc. and that I will continue to do so even when it involves something potentially as inconsequential as on-line gaming. Therefore, it pains me to see new players or even non-league veteran players being bullied – as Superb so aptly described it. I would add that, in my view, SOW MP has deteriorated into factions – league players and non league players. Even within the last league, which I was not a part of, factions developed between Conf and Union players which resulted in much bitterness and the eventual dissolution of the league. I can only predict that as the so-called “new” league is dominated by many of the same players, it will end in the same sad way.
In short, it was much more fun to play MP in early – mid April right after the game was released and before certain individuals, presumably bored with retirement, decided that they were not content with simply playing MP and that they had better emulate the military protocol of the Civil War to the letter, which mainly seemed to involve, ordering others around. The only reason Mowgli presumably is so happy with this arrangement is because he doesn’t mind taking orders.
I hate to name names and so will not do so here but I think that certain individuals should re-consider their conduct. In my view, it has already become egregious.
I have to disagree with the new league being ran by the same people because it isnt and their is 2 levels in our league their is the level of guys that just want to play a game and then their is the level for the guys that want to play in the campaign...so can people stop trying to put down the "new" league as we are trying to do our best for the community of SOWGB
Join Us for are campaign its 1861 and your respectable side needs you.
X Navy Seal, I think I understand your point of view, but I think it's a little confused. The new group isn't really a league, and it has no structure or rules outside the campaign game which is something many of the players take part in, but is not what most of the battles are.
AG was a different thing, and that is all past. There was actually very little bitterness, most people there were happy with each other which is why we're almost all still together after leaving AG.
The atmosphere is very different with the group now, it really isn't the same. If you haven't played with us yet then I understand if you haven't seen a difference.
To set the record straight I am not a leader of the "Army of the Shenandoah" club. However I have donated part of my Teamspeak3 server for there use.To be absolutely honest I have never heard the behavior mentioned bye the detractors of this group (and the MP community as a whole) that have been posted above on my server. Very much the opposite !!!! Seems to me that these folks have gone to great lengths to support new players as they join the community.
To this point there have been only two "members only" battles hosted bye members of The Army of the Shenandoah...the rest of the games hosted were open to all players that were interested in playing. So the comment above about this Particular group causing a fracture within the MP community is absolutely false.
I didn't write this to become a heated discussion on whether or not leagues are problems or not!
To clear up any confusion, I am only writing this due to two minor events that I witnessed. I don't care about the past, there is no point in blaming other people or leagues.
My goal was to make people aware of this matter and prevent the evil of battering other members of the community from spreading.
If the parties that have dealt out the battering read this, and understand that in others eyes, it is not the proper thing to do, and fix it, I feel like my goal has been achieved. Then, we can go on with our lives and put this minor glitch in the community away.
However, if this continues, I hope that other members of the community will take the next step and ask the guilty party to stop the harassment.
I hope that this clears up any confusion caused by my first post.
Thanks for your understanding.

Hear-hear! (or is it Here-Here? As usual I have no clue).
To paraphrase Shakespeare, "...Gentlemen, shall we let the game say the thing?...," "...then let us indeed cry havoc, and let slip the Dogs of War!..."
Enough talk, Gentlemen. To your commands, and always lead from the front...
