Age and Experience?
Re:Age and Experience?
I don't think your son is too young - kids these days are very computer literate and play lots of complex games like Warhammer. My nephew who is 9 plays and enjoys it. I was playing tabletop games at his age (anyone have thousands of Airfix H0/00 scale soldiers like me and my brothers?) We had WW2 but my friend introduced my to American Civil War at about the age of 12.

If you look at the credits for TC2M you will see a credit to my daughter for her hard work in testing the brigade tutorial. She was 10 at the time and ran through that scenario dozens of times to help get the timing of the various phases down. She understood at that age that it is a game but that it represents an important part of our history.

I agree with everyone on here. Get the demo and let him play it. Some of the controls might be a little much for him at first but let him play single player to get used to everything. If he is interested in the Civil War this should help interest him even more. I started playing Sid Meirers Gettysburg at 10 and have been a Civil War buff ever since. And if he doesnt like it you can play it

Ohhhh my gosh!! I got that game back in 1962 for Christmas and THAT is what got me started in studying the period to this very day... what a great memory.
